Donna is a native of Waukesha, Wisconsin, where she graduated from high school in 1972. She attended Concordia University and graduated summa cum laude in 1993 with a degree in business management. She attended the University of Wisconsin, Madison, for law school and graduated in 1995. During law school, she interned for the bankruptcy court for the Eastern District of Wisconsin and also for the Jefferson County Public Defenders Office. She has practiced law with her husband, Gerard Kuchler, since her graduation from law school. Donna practices law in state and federal courts. She is a member of the Wisconsin State Bar Association, the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, the Wisconsin Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, the American Trial Lawyers Association. She has served as a moot court judge for high school and undergraduate programs. Donna has been admitted to practice to the federal district courts in Wisconsin, and the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals.

Donna has been an active supporter of the Mental Health Association for Waukesha County as well as the UP Connection, which provides support and health services for pregnant teenagers. She was on the Board of Directors for both organizations for several years and served as Board president for the UP Connection. Donna's husband, Gerard, practices law with her in Waukesha. She has three adult children and Gerard also has three adult children.

Donna J. Kuchler is a partner in Kuchler Law Offices, where she practices law with her husband, Gerard Kuchler and her son Anthony Cotton. She has been litigating criminal and civil cases for over 10 years. She has served as an officer for the Mental Health Association and the UP Connection, both non-profit organizations. She has successfully defended a homicide charge in Jefferson, Wisconsin during 2005 for a father accused of shaking his baby to death. Ms. Kuchler is dedicated to protecting the rights of her clients in federal and state court. Ms. Kuchler lives in Waukesha with her husband.
